Traditional Cottage

From the minute she first spotted them, Tanya could see the potential in these two small cottages joined by an ugly flat roof extension, in a quiet lane away from the bustle of the Rock Road.

The renovation took place in two phases, with the emphasis on restoring original features, reinstating Delabole slate roofs and sensitively limewashing the thick cob walls. Modern conveniences of double glazing, a wetroom and a couple of skylights were added, but it was all done with a light touch, so that the traditional character of the buildings would still shine through.
